PUBLIC NOTICE
NORWALK TRANSIT DISTRICT
FFY’08 DBE GOALS
It is the policy of the Norwalk Transit District to provide Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or part with federal funds, and not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, or national origin in the award or performance of contracts. Norwalk Transit District’s proposed overall goal for FY’08 for DBE participation in the performance of DOT-assisted contracts (exclusive of FTA funds used to purchase transit vehicles) is 7.8% (race conscious 9.7% and race neutral .7%). Norwalk Transit District’s proposed goal and its rationale will be available for inspection for 30 days from the date of this notice, from 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Norwalk Transit District, 275 Wilson Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut, 06854.
The U.S. Department of Transportation and the Norwalk Transit District will accept comments on the goals for 45 days from the date of this notice. The address for the U.S. DOT office is Federal Transit Administration – Region I - Civil Rights Officer, Volpe Center, 55 Broadway, Suite 920, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02142-1093. Any firm wishing to obtain further information about the DBE program should contact Nancy R. Carroll at the Norwalk Transit District address above or by calling 203-299-5160.
